Work work

So, I know I'm not the first person to say that the standard 40-hour work week doesn't really work for them. I wonder how it is that people get out of situation? I haven't figured it out yet.

Trials

It's already the end of February, and 2010 hasn't been that much easier than 2009 so far (if at all) - I don't know why I expected it to be, though. Guess it's just one of those things, where a new year is supposed to restart everything. That's not really how things work, though. Ah well.

Been sick most of the month, which isn't helpful for most things, but I think I'm finally over it; I hope I don't get sick with something else again - I'd really like to be healthy, or at least as much as I get, again soon.

My wife was laid off from her job this month, but managed to land a new one in a week. Considering the job market, I find this thoroughly impressive. I hope we can finally get out from under our financial burdens one of these days.

In lighter news, I've gotten into World of Warcraft, which is kind of odd, since I've tried it three or four times in the past, and never really got into it. Seemed to hit my stride with my rogue this time around, though. Good times - now I just need to get Wrath of the Lich King (preferably some time before Cataclysm hits), but it's hard to justify $40. Heck, I'm playing on prepaid time from Christmas and Refer-a-friend, so I don't have to pay the subscription fees, even.

Also, speaking of things that I REALLY want but shouldn't buy, the new Wind Rider plushie (and, yes, the Gryphon, too), is way too adorable. I want one, and that's even if it didn't come with the in-game version (that I also want, but not as badly).

Incidentally, you folks who post in LiveJournal all the time, how do you manage to do it so often? I've never been able to keep it up.

Sleepiness

I want to know why it is that I can go to bed feeling fully alive and energetic, and then wake up feeling drained and miserable. More so, I'd like to know why this happens virtually every night. By midnight, then (about when I should be going to bed), I finally feel more or less awake again. Hm.

Also, I wonder what to call it - When I'm dreaming, I'm often fully aware that it's a dream, but it's not quite 'lucid'. I can't control what happens, or even what I'm doing. It's like watching a movie in my head, more than anything. What is that about?

Recordkeeping

It's a good idea to keep records in LiveJournal, I've discovered. So...

Got my Wisdom Teeth pulled (along with a few other problem teeth) this past Wednesday, the 2nd.

Um, nothing else going on right now, really. Same stuff. Decorated for Christmas yesterday, which was fun.

Drawing?

I've been trying to draw for a while, and it's just not working for me. It's weird, though, since I was able to come up with some stuff a while ago without too much difficulty (though with a lot of time, as is typical for me). I figured it might help to be trying a lit, but it seems to be just a good way to waste time. I wonder what it is I'm missing. Hm.

Cold Cold

Had little to no cold water for my shower this morning. It's surprising how much that can stick to you. It's always cold in the office at which I work, but today I'm chilled right to the bone. I also think I may be coming down with something. A cold, probably. I feel pretty crummy and tired, but I'm trying to keep my chin up. After all, Gab is employed again and we should be all sorts of financially stable again within, I don't know, the next couple months? We have some catch-up to do.

Also good news is it's Scribblenauts day today, which I'll be picking up after work, since I had it preordered and paid for since a while ago as an early/late birthday present. Who knew a present could be both early and late? Does that make it balance out to being right on time? I'll figure it does.

Sleepy Tuesday

I'm not exactly sure what happened to my Labor Day weekend. I'm sure I did something, but I'm not sure what, but I'm sure it wasn't productive. Oh well.

I'm tired of being tired, and I'm very tired today. I have to wonder what's up with that, but I can't really afford to go to the doctor. Oh well again.

On the plus side, The Beatles: Rock Band comes out tomorrow, which I just need to pick up, and in a week, there's Scribblenauts. I'm totally pumped up for this. I predict I am going to continue to be unproductive.

  • 09:39 First work call of the week is one of those situations where the caller will never be happy with the answers. Good way to start the week. #
  • 09:41 On the bright side, my birthday is in ten days! Beatles: RB in 23 days, and Scribblenauts in 30. Woo! #
  • 13:08 Maybe today was a bad day to decide to buckle down and be more optimistic about work again. Still trying. #
